GO BIG.
THEN GO BIGGER.
Because sometimes 8.5 × 11 just isn't going to cut it.
From a yard sign that needs to catch someone's eye from the road to a banner stretching across an event space, some messages simply weren't meant to fit on a sheet of paper.
If people need to see it from farther away than arm's length, you're entering sign and large-format territory — and that's where things start getting fun.
There's a Whole World Beyond Paper.
Signs and large-format graphics can advertise a business, guide a crowd, decorate an event, announce a sale, promote a team or simply make sure nobody misses what you're trying to say.
Vinyl Banners
Grand openings, events, sponsors, birthdays, reunions, fundraisers, sales, school functions and the giant announcement that absolutely cannot be missed.
Posters
Turn artwork, photographs, advertisements, schedules, announcements and promotional graphics into something much bigger than a standard printed page.
Yard Signs
Great for events, businesses, real estate, celebrations, directions, fundraisers and getting a message in front of people who are already driving by.
Window Graphics & Clings
Turn unused window space into branding, promotions, hours, seasonal graphics, event information or something people actually stop and look at.
Car Magnets
Put your business name, contact information and branding to work while your vehicle is already out doing its thing.
Event Signage
Welcome signs, sponsor boards, directional signs, photo-area graphics, booth signage, schedules and the little details that make an event feel put together.
Business & Storefront Graphics
Promotions, temporary signage, window messaging, business information and visual pieces that help customers notice you and know where they're going.
Directional Signs
Parking. Check-in. Entrance. Exit. Registration. This way. That way. Please stop wandering around looking confused.
Something Else?
If your project is oversized, unusually shaped, oddly specific or doesn't fit neatly into one of these categories, show us what you're thinking.
Where's It Going?
The best material and design can depend heavily on where the finished piece will actually live.
Indoors
Stores, offices, schools, events and displays.
Outdoors
Weather and exposure become part of the conversation.
On a Window
Storefronts, doors, promotions and informational graphics.
On a Vehicle
Mobile business visibility and removable promotional graphics.
In the Yard
Roadside visibility, directions, events and announcements.
On a Wall
Posters, graphics, information and visual displays.
At an Event
Branding, directions, sponsors, schedules and decoration.
I Don't Know Yet
I just know I need it big. That's enough to start.
Design for the Distance.
A sign can look fantastic when you're standing two feet away from it and be completely useless from across a parking lot.
Viewing distance affects things like lettering size, contrast, layout and how much information should be crammed onto the design.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to a sign is take something off of it.
OPENING
Large Format Has Its Own Rules.
Taking a tiny image and making it enormous doesn't automatically make it a good sign.
Readable Text
The farther away people will be, the more important large lettering, strong contrast and simple messaging become.
Strong Contrast
Colors may look beautiful together on a screen but disappear into each other when viewed from a distance.
Good Artwork
Large-format printing can expose low-resolution images. Better source artwork usually means a better giant result.
The Right Proportions
A 2 × 8 banner and a 4 × 4 sign may contain the same information, but they need very different layouts.
Viewing Distance
Tell us whether someone will see it from three feet, thirty feet or from a moving vehicle. That matters.
Keep It Simple
Bigger gives you more space. That does not mean every square inch needs to contain something.
So... How Big Do You Need It?
Accompanied by wildly outstretched arms is still an accepted unit of measurement at InkSpire. We'll help turn that highly scientific measurement into actual dimensions.
Big Printing Shows Up Everywhere.
Large-format work isn't just for businesses. If people need to see it, celebrate it, follow it or find it, there's probably a sign involved.
Businesses
Promotions, storefront messaging, sales, service information, temporary signs and branding.
Schools & Teams
Fundraisers, sports, recognition, events, celebrations, sponsors and team support.
Events
Welcome signs, banners, booth graphics, directions, schedules, sponsors and displays.
Celebrations
Birthdays, weddings, reunions, graduations, anniversaries and milestone moments.
Community & Personal
Yard messages, announcements, community events, personal projects and one-off ideas.
The Weird Idea
You know the one. You aren't even sure what to call it yet. Show us what you're trying to accomplish and we'll start there.
